Emini Futures Daytrading Course Home

What's the difference between day trading Emini Futures and NASDAQ stocks?

  1. NASDAQ stocks are traded at different places. Emini futures are traded in one place. Much tidier. Less games can be played.
  2. NASDAQ stocks have market makers that play games. Emini futures don't have market makers. Buyers and Sellers are matched in a computer. Much cleaner.
  3. NASDAQ stocks have low leverage of a maximum of 4:1. Emini futures typically have 20:1 leverage, so you can trade a smaller account to make the same money, or make more money from the same size account.
  4. NASDAQ stocks have the pattern day trader rule if your account is smaller than $25,000. There is no pattern day trader rule for Emini futures.
  5. Emini futures are based upon stock indices. That decreases your exposure if there's bad news on one stock.
  6. Many NASDAQ level 1 and level 2 day traders have switched to day trading Emini futures.
  7. With Emini futures, it's just as easy to trade short as it is to trade long. And there's no uptick rule (however the uptick rule will probably be phased out).
